Yard Hostler Afternoon Hours Details:
- Safely shuttle and position trailers within dock areas and parking lots while transporting freight to designated locations.
- Load, unload, sort, stack, and organize freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other approved equipment.
- Inspect trailers before and after loading, document equipment conditions, and report damage or discrepancies.
- Verify freight counts, accurately label cargo, and maintain shipping records, receipts, and documentation.
- Conduct daily yard checks, secure freight on pallets, and maintain clean trailers and work areas.
Yard Hostler Afternoon Hours Qualifications:
- Experience operating yard hostlers, trailer-moving equipment, or related freight-handling equipment preferred.
- Ability to safely operate required material-handling equipment and follow dock and warehouse safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and ability to accurately complete freight and inspection documentation.
- Ability to perform physically demanding duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing in and out of equipment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse and yard environment with changing temperatures and frequent equipment movement.
